Grapes are gently fed by gravity into a cage, eliminating the need for beaters or shafts, ensuring careful handling.
Depending on the model, users can select from two cage types: a short HDPE cage on the Delta Oscillys 50 or a wide pentagonal cage on the XM/XL models, which provides single-layer bunch treatment. Adjustable oscillation speed and roller spacing allow precise adaptation to grape variety, ripeness, and condition, optimising destemming quality and minimising damage.
The Bucher Delta Oscillys destemming system features an exclusive, patented design (3 patents) that ensures efficient and thorough destemming. Grapes are gravity-fed into a hopper and wide cage, where two sorter zones deliver superior sorting quality. This process preserves berry integrity while minimising shredding of stalks and green debris like leaves and petioles. The Delta Oscillys significantly reduces residual plant material, achieving a contamination ratio between 0.2% and 0.5%, compared to 2% to 4.5% with traditional destemmers, enhancing overall grape quality for winemaking.
