Built for the realities of vintage logistics, the Capp-Plast SmartBox 1388 F is a 565-litre, perforated-wall HDPE harvest bin that folds flat for the 9 months of the year you're not using it at full capacity. Its ventilated bottom and walls let air circulate around freshly picked grapes and fruit, helping reduce the oxidation and volatile acidity risk that comes with bulk collection; while its rounded internal edges and smooth/perforated wall design protect fruit from damage during picking, transport and tipping.

When vintage wraps up, the SmartBox folds down to a fraction of its working height (roughly 293mm folded vs 800mm assembled), cutting storage and return-transport volume by a factor of 1:2 to 1:3; a genuine win for wineries and contract pickers juggling limited shed space or return freight costs between harvests.

Purpose-built feet/skids keep the bin stable during forklift handling and truck transport even when stacked and loaded, and the fully recyclable HDPE construction (no metal inserts) means it's easy to clean, food-safe, and built to be reused vintage after vintage. Optional side doors (short or long side) allow for gentler, more controlled unloading of harvested fruit than tipping from the top reducing skin and berry damage at the receival end.
